Screeb 1.5 Progress

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Small update here, been working on Screeb. Had to redo a lot of code to allow me to make new ships easier. Got all that done over the weekend and its working sweeet. Next is to rework the weapon code so I can do the same thing, I want to be able to make new and more interesting weapons too so that is next. At this point you wouldnt see any visual changes.

Once I have the code rework done I am going to start adding “Needs” to the AI so the ships will have to gather energy to stay alive. This should make for some very interesting behavior like ships attacking other ships and stealing energy, or fleeing and hiding if they are low on energy or health. I have also started adding in asteroids and planets. These will introduce a new steering behavior called orbit.

I have some fantastic ideas but not enough time to get them done. Got some time off work over Christmas so I look forward to getting a lot more done then.

PS. I hope you like the new site banner at the top, made that a week or two ago.. its cool.

Setup Revision 4.1

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Well I have needed a new PC for a long while. I spent a LOT of time looking for a notebook that could replace my desktop and my EEEPc. But every option left me frustrated and beating sales staff around the head in many shops. Eventualy I decided on an option that was cheaper than the Notebook, and way more flexible.

I went to the local PC shop, support the locals, and purchased enough parts to build a new desktop deck. Something with expansion options that are unlimited. Although I went with bare bones to start off, I have plans to make this an awesome file server in the end. Also got a reasonable graphics card that plays WOW like I have never seen it. I set up shares for all the other PCs in the house and went around uploading my music and videos that had been stored on all the other devices I have. So now I have a central storage location.

Then to combat the portabillity issues I went out and got myself a new EEEPc. A 1000h, 10 inch screen. Its not the smallest, but its keyboard is definatly touch typable, and its screen is big enough to see everything on. I have installed all the crap software I use on this, including visual studio and my audio editing stuff. This means I can take my coding anywhere and my desktop stays clean and fast. So Im real happy with the choice and the EEEPc so far handles all the shit I have put on it with ease.

My only gripe is the amount of time it took to remove all the preinstalled software, and there was so much of it. Once that was done, everything was sweet.

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Well its been fun learning how this blog package works, and Im getting it together well. Got some pages working so my software links are not in posts, and I got :) ies working.

So far the pages are mostly only set up and most of the links and info are not finished yet, but Ill work on that over the weekend, unless I spend my time coding.

New Site Look.

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Well due to bblog not being supported any more, and the huge amount of spam I updated to the new blogging software.  I tried to save all the posts I had, but decided with the thousands of spams that I would instead try to rebuild it new.

So Im going to spend the next few days or more rebuilding the posts and when its all sorted Ill start posting on the current status of Two Suns. ;)

At this point Im not allowing comments yet, but I will be for registered users at a later date. :P
